Assignment 3.3 This I Believe Pre-Writing

OK. For the first part of assignment 3.3 we are supposed to write as many "I Believe" statements that we can in ten minutes. I don't believe this was an easy assignment for me, but here it is.

This I Believe… In Ten Minutes

I believe that my wife loves me.
I believe that she wants me to succeed
I believe that I need to do well in this class
I believe that I need a vacation.
I believe that my daughter takes after her mother.
I  believe that there is never anything worthwhile on television anymore.
I believe that I should check into a larger satellite package.
I believe that I won’t buy a larger package.
I believe that this is the longest ten minutes of today.
I believe that I’m going to have a terrible time with the freewriting
I believe that this class just might be the death of me.
I believe that I’m not particularly looking forward to taking any other English classes.
I believe that this ten minutes will never end.
I believe that the pugs are making too much noise for me to concentrate.
I believe that I need to get them some more toys.
I believe that I am too caught up in correct spelling for this assignment.
I also believe that I will have a hard time at the freewriting because of that.
I believe that my thoughts travel faster than my fingers and that it is hard to keep up with the train.
I believe that I can’t believe that the timer hasn’t went off yet.
I believe that this is much harder to do while typing than it would have been writing.
I believe that there is something fundamentally more natural about writing with a pencil and paper.
I believe that statements like that make me feel old.
I believe that I will grow old before I truly feel old.
I believe that I will always be a child at heart.
I believe that children are smarter than adults in some cases.

Jung Typology Results

For the second post on our blog, we are supposed to reflect and respond to our test results from the Jung Typology test. Here we go.

It was very surreal for me to see my personality being broken down like that detail by detail. I've always known that I was an introvert and a people watcher, but I never reflected on the whys. My typology test says that I am an INFJ (introvert, intuitive, feeling, judging) personality type and that I tend to be empathic rather than analytical. I strive to change the world through feelings and internal conflicts. Integrity in very important to me.

This test did shed some insight on my writing style and reading preferences. I tend to lean toward poetry in my writing. This fits my personality type because, I think, poetry takes a lot if internal processing and comparing. You have to feel poetry to truly appreciate it in my opinion. My reading styles tend to run more towards the epic fiction works of the last fifty years. I enjoy reading into the massive emotional conflicts that take place in a work of fiction.

I did enjoy getting the insight into school and my personality type. It actually explained a couple of things foe me.  I've struggled with this class since day one for what I thought were various reasons. Since taking this test I seem to think my difficulties are because I feel the need to feed off of the other emotions in my class. By working in an online environment, I don't get the actions and reactions I normally need. And for me personally I'm not one for randomly conversing with new people. Quite the quandary.

So in summary, I tend to agree with the typology test. It seemed to fit me perfectly whether it be in work or school. I only disagree with a few statements, but only because I don't really want to agree with them not because they're untrue.

Initial Posting

For my schoolmates that are attempting to publish their own blog as part of the week two assignment, this was done on my tablet. I could not find any of the links in the homework and had to sort of wing it. I will attempt to follow the videos from my PC at home, but this is where I started. It automatically signed into my Google account and loaded everything for me. Hope for the best. Wish me as much luck as I'm wishing all of you!
